DxSale Loses $7.3M in Exploit, Over 1,400 LPs Affected on BNB Chain
Memecoin launch platform DxSale suffered a $7.3 million exploit affecting around 1,400 liquidity providers (LPs) on BNB Chain. The attacker's address transferred $1.87 million worth of BNB to two wallets and deposited into Binance addresses, according to PeckShield. Blockchain analyst Tahax noted the exploiter wallet was newly created and funded via Bybit. The incident adds to May's DeFi hack losses totaling $52 million, down from $634 million in April. Concerns about DeFi safety have grown, with OpenZeppelin's founder citing AI's role in identifying vulnerabilities. Onchain evidence shows the DxSale deployer quietly transferred contract ownership 269 days ago, leaving a backdoor. Coinsult reported that a privileged setFee and backdated lock allowed withdrawal loops. Over $17 billion in crypto exploit losses have been tracked by DefiLlama.
