Circle Launches AI Agent Financial Tools with USDC Support

Circle Internet Group has launched Agent Stack, a suite of developer tools enabling AI agents to autonomously hold funds, make payments, and hire services using USDC stablecoins. The initial products include agent wallets, a command-line interface, an agent marketplace, and a nanopayments protocol capable of processing USDC transfers as small as $0.000001 at high speed with no gas fees. These features are designed to support high-frequency machine-to-machine micropayments that traditional banking systems cannot handle. CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that financial infrastructure has historically been built for humans, but the next phase of the global economy will be AI-driven, with AI agents themselves becoming customers. The announcement comes alongside Circle reporting quarterly earnings and a $222 million token sale valuing its Arc network at $3 billion. The move positions Circle among other firms, including Amazon, Coinbase, Stripe, Google Cloud, and Solana Foundation, that have recently launched AI agent stablecoin payment infrastructure. Circle shares rose nearly 16% on the announcement day, reaching $131.76.
