American Bitcoin Corp. Announces 1-for-15 Reverse Stock Split to Meet Nasdaq Listing Rule

American Bitcoin Corp., the Bitcoin mining and accumulation firm co-founded by Eric Trump and majority-owned by Hut 8 Corp., announced a 1-for-15 reverse stock split effective July 2 to raise its share price above Nasdaq's minimum bid requirement. The move comes as ABTC shares hit a record low of $0.6122 on Wednesday, down 41% in the past month and 86% over the past year. The split will reduce outstanding shares from 1.09 billion to about 73 million, with fractional shares cashed out. Shareholders approved the split at the June 22 annual meeting. While reverse splits mechanically boost per-share price without altering market value, they are often seen as a sign of weakness. The company went public in September through a merger with Hut 8. Bitcoin trades near $60,150, down 16% monthly and over 50% from its October high above $126,000. Separately, President Donald Trump revealed earning over $1.2 billion from crypto-related businesses in 2025 and holding over $50 million in Bitcoin.
